The Bonsai Society of Greater Hartford, a non-profit educational organization, was founded in the late 1970s to promote the interest in and enjoyment of Bonsai. Our earliest members were committed to acquainting those people who were interested in bonsai with each other.Through payment of dues and other fund-raising activities, the members of the BSGH are able to bring artists from around the world to our meetings so we might learn from the best. We have the biggest and best library of Bonsai material of all clubs on the east coast. The more experienced members of our society teach the less experienced through workshops and open houses so beginner members are encouraged in all aspects of the bonsai arts and sciences. Our members participate in the We welcome anyone interested in this fascinating art to join us.annual show and numerous other events around the area. Hi Everyone, Please come to our annual club picnic and auction Saturday, August 14th across from the Pond House in Elizabeth Park 1555 Asylum Ave. West Hartford, CT. Look for a white canopy and Bob's green canopy that is where we will be. We will start the day with a bring your own tree workshop from 10 to 1 and then lunch from 1 to 2:30 and auction to follow. The club supplies Burgers and Dogs and beverages you can bring a salad or dessert and don't forget some bonsai related items for the auction.
